<a href="https://delimiter.online/blog/ai-podcast-generation-2/” title=”WordPress”>WordPress.com has released a series of new features over the past two weeks, including a native podcast hosting platform, a private weekly newsletter service for close friends, and a new Mac application designed to help users manage their site content without leaving their workflow.
The updates, detailed in the company’s May 21 changelog, aim to consolidate content creation, distribution, and site management tools directly into the WordPress.com ecosystem.
Podcast hosting now integrated
Jetpack Podcast is now live on WordPress.com. Users can launch a podcast that lives alongside their blog and newsletter without requiring a separate hosting platform or tool. The feature is accessible from the site sidebar under Jetpack, then Podcast.
For users with a Free site, episodes can be published by linking to audio hosted elsewhere. Distribution and Settings tabs are available to manage the show.
Users with a Premium plan or above can host audio directly on WordPress.com, view statistics, manage episodes, and embed shows using the new Episode Player Block.
Lately: private weekly newsletter for close contacts
A new beta feature called Lately enables users to send weekly letters to a curated list of close friends. The letters are compiled automatically from notes sent during the week and delivered every Friday.
The service runs through Telegram. Users message the WordPress Agent as events occur, and the system handles sending the curated newsletter each week. The beta is currently available for new sites.
WordPress Workspace Mac app
WordPress Workspace is a new Mac application currently in beta. It integrates site context such as voice, audience, archive, offers, media, and guidelines into a single interface. At its center, the WordPress Agent helps users write, research, and publish without starting from scratch each time.
Users can draft a post from notes, update a page, generate an image, or receive quick answers about their site through a keyboard shortcut. The app is available on all WordPress.com plans.
Blueprints Gallery for WordPress Studio
WordPress Studio, the desktop development environment, now includes a Blueprints Gallery. This feature offers a curated library of pre-configured WordPress setups for blogging, ecommerce, plugin testing, and design exploration.
Users can launch these as local sites in a few clicks. A Live Preview button allows testing a Blueprint before committing. Sites can then be synced with a WordPress.com hosting plan for going live.
Achievements, badges, and activity streaks
WordPress.com users now have an Achievements page. This page tracks daily activity streaks and earns badges for milestones. Users can make their profiles public to allow others to view their achievements.
Easter eggs and other updates
The Konami code (up, up, down, down, left, right, left, right, B, A) now triggers two different surprises: one on a logged-in WordPress.com page and another in WordPress Studio.
Fixes and improvements
Additional updates include a “Performed by” filter added to the Activity Log, allowing users to drill into actions by specific people, apps, or system events. A QR code sign-in page has been added for the WooCommerce mobile app, enabling sign-in through scanning rather than typing. The block editor has also received the latest improvements and bug fixes.
WordCamp Europe assistant
For attendees heading to WordCamp Europe in Krakow, a free travel and conference assistant is available via Telegram. Users can message @wordcamp_agent_bot to plan trips, browse schedules, remember sessions, and receive reminders before sessions start.
WordPress.com continues to expand its feature set, with further updates expected as beta programs progress and user feedback is incorporated.
