Teen’s Website Helps Animal Rescue Save Over 100 Pets

A Connecticut high school student’s digital initiative has significantly accelerated the work of an <a href="https://delimiter.online/blog/WordPress-websites/” title=”animal rescue”>animal rescue organization she co-founded as a child. Murphy Levesque, now a senior, utilized a professional website to help Hidden Gem Animal Rescue assist more than 100 animals in approximately three years, roughly doubling its previous operational pace.

The rescue organization was established in 2020 by Levesque and her horseback riding trainer when Levesque was 11 years old. The effort began with the rescue of a litter of kittens from a one-eyed barn cat. The organization has since grown into a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit operating across Connecticut and the Northeastern United States, with cases sometimes coming from as far as Texas and North Carolina.

Establishing a Digital Hub

Prior to launching its dedicated website, Hidden Gem Animal Rescue relied on social media platforms like Instagram and Facebook. This approach lacked a central, authoritative hub for information. The creation of a website provided a single destination for potential adopters, fosters, and donors to learn about the rescue’s operations.

The site enables visitors to immediately take action, such as applying to foster an animal, submitting an adoption application, or making a financial contribution. Levesque stated the platform made interactions easier for the public, increasing the likelihood they would engage with the rescue’s mission.

Impact on Operations and Credibility

The introduction of a formal online donation platform, alongside existing peer-to-peer payment options, streamlined the contribution process. Levesque noted that the professional appearance of the website enhanced the rescue’s legitimacy in the eyes of potential supporters.

Furthermore, the rescue utilized the website’s advertising tools to promote animals available for adoption. This strategy generated increased traffic and visibility for the organization’s work.

Future Objectives for the Rescue

Looking ahead, Levesque aims to secure a physical location for Hidden Gem Animal Rescue. The goal is to continue building the organization’s profile and operational systems to improve the experience for volunteers, foster families, and adopters.

The website is expected to remain central to these expansion plans. Levesque described it as a critical tool for gaining traction, facilitating public interaction, and building the rescue’s public image.

Levesque manages the nonprofit, its social media presence, and website updates while completing her secondary education. The website platform provided a scalable foundation that developed alongside the project’s growth.

The organization continues to focus on rescuing dogs and cats, operating through a network of foster homes. The next phase involves institutional growth and physical infrastructure development, supported by its established digital presence.
