How the Integration Works
To activate the connection, users must enable MCP Tool Access within their WordPress.com account settings. They must then add the official WordPress.com connector within their Claude account settings. After approving the link between the two services, Claude can access the website’s content with user permission.
The AI can then perform tasks based on user prompts. For instance, it can scan a site’s blog to find unanswered questions from readers or analyze competitor websites to highlight missing topics. Beyond generating topic lists, the tool can assist with content planning and creation. The connection between Claude and WordPress.com uses OAuth 2.1, a standard authorization protocol, to maintain security while allowing the AI to read site data. The feature is positioned as a workflow tool for streamlining content strategy and production.
