The core of the problem lies in visibility; traditional endpoint and network security tools are often not designed to monitor browser extension activity at a granular level.
Consequently, sensitive corporate data processed by these extensions can be sent to external AI models without the knowledge or consent of an organization’s IT or security departments. This creates a substantial risk for data leakage and compliance violations.
