Site owners can add a welcome message, write descriptions for free and paid subscription tiers, and optionally hide the free tier to direct readers to paid plans. This feature is available for any newsletter on any plan, including free accounts, and can be set up through the Newsletter Settings.

For e-commerce sites using WooCommerce, the search function on WordPress.com Commerce stores has received a major upgrade. Shoppers can now filter products by size, color, price range, rating, availability, category, tag, and brand. The enhanced search results display rich product cards including images, prices, ratings, and review counts. Users can sort results by price or rating, and active filter chips are shown as they refine their search. These features are included in the Commerce plan and require no additional installation or connection.

The platform’s support assistant has been upgraded to handle common domain-related tasks directly within the chat interface. Users can request the assistant to set up email for their domain through services such as Google Workspace or iCloud, update domain records, check domain availability, or set a primary domain. The assistant confirms all changes with the user before executing them, ensuring no action is taken without approval. To access this feature, users can click the question mark icon in the top navigation bar, then select “Get help.”

Several smaller improvements and fixes have also been implemented to improve day-to-day user experience. A previous issue causing missing images in the Reader feed has been fixed. A Write button has been added to the top of the Reader, allowing users to start writing in the full editor directly from the feed. A settings tab has been added to the Reader profile, giving users control over the visibility of their achievements. The password reset flow has been fixed to display a clear failure message instead of a dead end. The Help Center has been updated to load immediately, even during the account setup process. Additionally, plan-change confirmations for downgrading to another annual plan now show the specific changes made.

WordPress.com continues to refine its platform, with these updates aimed at providing more direct control and smoother user interactions.

Source: WordPress.com Blog

WordPress.com has released a series of updates from June 19 to July 2, 2026, focusing on user control over subscription forms, e-commerce search capabilities, and direct domain management through its support chat.
