The Scandinavian audio brand Sudio has appointed Genuine Solutions as its exclusive distribution partner for the United Kingdom. The agreement, announced this week, tasks the UK-based accessories distributor with managing all sales channels to expand Sudio’s retail footprint across the region.
To date, Sudio has sold approximately one million units in the UK through retailers including Argos and HMV. Under the new partnership, Genuine Solutions will lead a broader rollout, targeting new retail partnerships across mobile phone, consumer electronics, grocery, and lifestyle sectors.
Strategic Market Expansion
Carl Sundqvist, co-founder of Sudio, identified the UK as a key market for the brand. He stated that the partnership provides the platform to scale appropriately with the necessary retail support. The company’s products, which include wireless headphones, noise-cancelling earbuds, and speakers, are expected to appear in a wider range of UK retail and online channels in the coming months.
Genuine Solutions confirmed it is in active discussions with several high street retailers. The distributor aims to significantly expand Sudio’s presence within the independent retail sector over the next 12 to 24 months.
A Shift in Distribution Strategy
Paul Crossman, CEO of Revolvex Group, the holding company for Genuine Solutions, explained that the agreement reflects a strategic shift towards a more active distribution model. He emphasized that the goal extends beyond logistics to include building consumer demand, identifying optimal retail environments, and fostering sustainable growth for the brand.
Kamil Finowski, Head of Brand Partnerships and Purchasing at Genuine Solutions, highlighted the market opportunity. He noted a clear gap in the mid-range audio segment, positioning Sudio as a design-led alternative at a more accessible price point compared to established premium brands.
Operational Support and European Alignment
As part of the comprehensive partnership, Genuine Solutions will deploy several value-added services for retail partners. These include vendor-managed inventory systems, demand planning, merchandising support, and product training delivered via e-learning platforms.
This distribution agreement aligns with Sudio’s broader strategy for European expansion. It also coincides with the repositioning of Genuine Solutions under the Revolvex Group umbrella as a strategic, rather than purely logistical, distribution partner.
Looking ahead, the immediate focus for both companies is the execution of the phased retail rollout throughout the UK. The success of this partnership will likely influence Sudio’s distribution approach in other European markets and signal the evolving role of distributors in the competitive consumer electronics landscape.
