PlayStation Plus March Games Include Space Marine 2, Persona 5

Sony Interactive Entertainment has announced the lineup of games joining the PlayStation Plus Game Catalog in March 2024. The update adds a significant selection of titles across the Extra and Premium subscription tiers, including major releases such as “Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2,” “Persona 5 Royal,” and “Blasphemous 2.” The games will become available to download starting Tuesday, March 19.

The addition provides substantial new content for subscribers of the service, which offers a rotating library of hundreds of games. This monthly refresh is a standard feature of the subscription, designed to maintain its value and appeal to a broad audience of players.

Headlining Titles for March

The most prominent new addition is “Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2,” a third-person action shooter that continues the story of the superhuman Space Marines. It will be available to PlayStation Plus Extra and Premium members. Another major inclusion is “Persona 5 Royal,” the definitive edition of the acclaimed Japanese role-playing game, which also joins the Extra and Premium catalog.

Subscribers will also gain access to “Blasphemous 2,” the sequel to the punishing Metroidvania-style action game known for its dark religious themes and challenging combat. This title is also part of the Extra and Premium offering.

Additional Games and Premium Classics

The broader list of games coming to the Extra tier includes “Hello Neighbor 2,” “NBA 2K24 Kobe Bryant Edition,” “After Us,” “Destroy All Humans! 2 – Reprobed,” “PlateUp!,” and “Soulstice.” These titles span a variety of genres from sports and simulation to action and horror.

For PlayStation Plus Premium subscribers, the update includes classic games from older PlayStation consoles. One confirmed title is “Tekken Dark Resurrection,” a PlayStation Portable fighting game. Premium tier benefits also include game trials, cloud streaming, and access to a separate catalog of classic games.

Service Structure and Availability

PlayStation Plus is Sony’s subscription service for online multiplayer and monthly game offerings. It is structured in three tiers: Essential, Extra, and Premium. The Essential tier provides online multiplayer access and a few monthly games to keep. The Extra and Premium tiers include the larger Game Catalog, which is the library receiving these new additions.

Games in the Game Catalog are not permanently available; they rotate in and out on a schedule determined by Sony and its publishing partners. Subscribers retain access to these games only for as long as they remain in the catalog and maintain an active subscription at the required tier level.

The announcement follows the standard pattern for PlayStation Plus updates, which are typically revealed in the middle of the month preceding their release. Sony did not specify the removal date for the incoming titles, nor did it announce which existing catalog games will be leaving the service in March.

Looking Ahead for Subscribers

Subscribers can expect the new games to be accessible through their console’s PlayStation Plus hub section on the scheduled date. Sony typically provides the complete list of monthly Game Catalog additions alongside the separate monthly games for the Essential tier, which are announced separately.

Future updates to the PlayStation Plus Game Catalog will continue on a monthly basis. The company has not indicated any immediate changes to this schedule or the structure of the service. The next major update is expected to be announced in mid-April for a release in early May.
