The Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2026 in Barcelona concluded with nearly 105,000 attendees from 207 countries and territories, according to final figures released by the event organiser, the GSMA. The four-day technology and connectivity summit, one of the world’s largest, took place at the Fira de Barcelona Gran Via venue, showcasing the latest innovations from across the mobile ecosystem and related industries.
The total attendance figure represents a decrease of approximately 4,000 visitors from the 2025 event but remains 8,000 higher than the turnout recorded in 2024. The event hosted 2,900 exhibitors, sponsors, and partners on its show floor.

Conference Programme and Speaker Demographics
More than 1,700 industry executives and policymakers participated as speakers across the conference programme. The GSMA reported that 40 percent of these speakers held C-level executive positions, such as Chief Executive Officer or Chief Technology Officer. Thirty-five percent of the speakers were women.
The event’s political and regulatory significance was underscored by the attendance of approximately 45 intergovernmental organisations. This delegation included 54 government ministers and 118 heads of national regulatory authorities responsible for telecommunications and digital policy.

Audience Composition and Industry Reach
An analysis of the attendee profile indicates a broadening of the event’s appeal beyond its traditional core. The GSMA stated that 58 percent of attendees represented industries adjacent to the core mobile ecosystem, including automotive, finance, healthcare, and manufacturing.
Seventeen percent of all attendees were identified as C-suite executives, with 45 percent holding director-level positions or higher. Women accounted for 27 percent of the total attendees at the Barcelona congress.
Digital Engagement and Content Distribution
The keynote speeches and live conference sessions generated significant online interest. The GSMA confirmed these sessions amassed more than 1.3 million views across multiple digital platforms. These included the official MWC Barcelona website, the event’s mobile application, its social media channels, the GSMA’s Mobile World Live portal, and various partner media platforms.

The GSMA has not yet announced specific dates for MWC Barcelona 2027. However, based on its traditional scheduling, the event is expected to return to the Fira Barcelona in late February or early March of next year. The organisation typically releases detailed attendance and economic impact reports several weeks after the conclusion of each congress, which will provide further analysis of the event’s global reach and industry influence.
